Meet the Team
Tyler Frysinger – Co-Founder
Upon finishing my degree in Forestry and Wildlife Management in 2007, I began to focus on Conservation Ecology and Environmental Education. In 2020, after 16 years of research on soils, plants, and ecology, Strata Eco Solutions LLC was created to assist property owners in managing their lawns, landscapes, trees, gardens, and wildlife habitats with little to no chemicals. Utilizing inspiration from forest soils, the goal is to create a balanced ecosystem both above and below ground. To further my life mission of creating as much beneficial habitat as possible, in 2024, Terry and I co-founded North Central Ohio Pollinator Pathway.
In addition to being passionate about soils and anything that grows or blooms, I absolutely love tending my extensive landscape and spending time with my wife, Carol, and our three adorable kids.
Terry Hermsen
I am a poet, song-writer & retired English teacher. I am passionate about creating positive climate change action & see Pollinator Pathways as a way to energize our community. I have taught many nature writing workshops… and done Poetry Night Hikes in many different parks & locations. My wife and I are slowly transforming our yards toward pollinator spaces—and have a 20’ x 6’ prairie beside our driveway.
My books include The River’s Daughter and A House for Last Year’s Summer. In May of 2024, I published Tiny Songs: Haiku & Meditations, centered on the artwork of Cadine Navarro based in recordings of dormant prairie seeds.
Alison Mayer
My family and I live in Delaware and I have been known to drive around town pointing out sections of turf grass that would make great pollinator habitats. I am excited to be part of making that happen in our county through this Pollinator Pathway initiative! I work as an elementary Art teacher (Marion City) and lead a group of student gardeners in taking care of our School Pollinator Garden. It has been fantastic working with different organizations to design native pollinator habitats!

Gigi Lamm
I am a book and author publicist for the University of Pennsylvania Press. I moved to Delaware in January 2022, having lived in cities since 1988 (NY, Seattle, Philadelphia)! In Philadelphia, I fell in love with container gardening but now that I have garden beds, I began to research what I could do in-ground in Ohio and tumbled into an obsession with creating a native garden in my new home. Combine that with political activism and coursework towards a masters in human rights focused on climate change, and long story short, I met Tyler Frysinger, joined the NCOPP steering committee, and Tyler and I are working on converting my front lawn into a pollinator garden. I love bringing my professional skills and personal enthusiasm to everything we're doing to make our community a pollinator pathway--and I hope to work on changing HOA regulations regarding lawn care and city ordinances that encourage and incentivize native gardening.
Patty Shipley
I’ve been a nature-loving gardener since I could walk, and I’ve always tried to plant things for wildlife, never realizing the importance of native plants. In the fall of 2019 I read “Bringing Nature Home,” and before I even finished the book, I decided to start a native plant nursery on my 10 acres - 2024 will be our 4th growing season! Since reading BNH, I’ve been working with nursery staff to restore habitat here, alongside tending to around 5000 plants in 2023, increasing to around 7000 plants this year. I’m excited to see so many folks coming on board the native plant movement.
Amy Eiken
After 20+ years teaching history in the Olentangy Local School District, Amy returned to her family’s century-old farm outside Delaware on Curve Road, where she has founded Sackett Flower Farm, selling flowers throughout the area and holding many innovative events for the community.
Anna Pellegrin
My love of nature began with my grandfather and I going on nature walks where he would share his love of the natural world with me. My passion for nature grew and carried me on my journey through college where I earned a B.A. in Sustainability Studies focusing on Science from Baldwin Wallace University. At BW I was involved in a variety of projects with a focus on educational outreach and water quality monitoring, such as interning at the Cleveland Earth Day Coalition. I’m excited to call Delaware my home and be involved in helping create a greener future for our community.
